GROW: YOUR OWN TIME

If you haven’t heard of Grow yet, that’s about to change. The band’s first release is a five-minute, blues-infused indie rock anthem that drips with nostalgia.

GROW: YOUR OWN TIME

Halifax’s music scene just got a major boost with the launch of Grayston Unity Records, and their first signing, Grow, are wasting no time making an impact. This four-piece—Jack Wilson, Harry Shackleton, Luke Bradley, and Isaac Brierley—are already generating serious buzz, and their debut single, Your Own Time, is about to put them on the map.

Musically, Your Own Time is packed with rich textures and soaring melodies. The standout feature? That Bowie-esque, allegro piano line that gives the track its signature feel. It all started with that very melody, inspired by Neil Young’s Helpless, and grew (pun intended) into something grander in the studio. Thanks to the magic touch of producer JB Pilon, layers of instrumentation came together at Buffalo Studio in Castleford to create a lush, cinematic sound.

And it’s not just fans who are taking notice. Legendary producer Gordon Raphael, the mastermind behind The Strokes, has already given his stamp of approval, calling Your Own Time “one of the most enjoyable things I’ve heard in a long time.” If that’s not a sign that Grow are onto something special, we don’t know what is.

Your Own Time is just the first of four electrifying singles from Grow. If this debut is anything to go by, Halifax’s latest indie rock export might just be your new favourite band.
