KIOSK: THEY'RE OUT OF THIS WORLD

With their debut on the scene just a couple of months back, aliencore art punk band Kiosk is invading the mind and bodies of everyone who witnesses their presence. The trio is clearly at the purest stage of dedication to their craft: the beginning.

Our music is about fitting the world we’re in, and how new we are to it” with no songs out but already a number of shows in the city, their passion for their art is something that strikes as quite intimidating. It is hard to find a band with such clear visions for their identity, but Kiosk is nothing ordinary.

We’ve left our planet to come here, on earth, and our pieces are just a regurgitation of what earth music sounds to us” a polished sound, a clear identity and and unprecedented dedication to their craft makes their unfamiliar music sound like the soundtrack to your thoughts, at least when you’re a common earthling like us.

“Not always we feel comfortable on earth, not always we feel like we belong, and lyrics can be about that, but the music is going to make you dance, it’s always going to make you dance”

The juxtaposition between the music and the lyrical content seems to be consciously thought;

Their telepathic musical relationship begins with their connection as friends with a passion in common (as well as their extraterrestrial origins, duh)

their writing process is incredibly meticulous and natural: the only goal they have when writing is to be honest and unique, fun and weird. “Lyrics usually come last, we sit down and make noise, then it just happens. We’re very connected when it comes to music, we know how to trust each other”

But the purest expression of their personalities is on stage, when the band has time to show earthlings how it’s done. “We just want them to feel drunk really”

Speaking of leaving their inhibition behind when on stage, the band is ready to take the stage again on September 24th at The Pack Horse and earlier that week for an incredibly exciting secret event t.b.a.

On how it feels to find a place in the Leeds music scene, the band agrees that “it’s been quite crazy actually, we never thought we’d get so much love and it’s just…great. We played with bands like Pop Vulture, which we love, We really love”

Now the band is ready to work on a more consistent body of work, maybe to release.

It’s complicated to work out what’s best for the music industry when you’re a stranger on earth, but they seem to have nailed every single checklist point on how to be legends.
